Danida Scholarships
Applicants from Danida Priority Countries can contact their local Danish Embassy to get information about the Danida Scholarships which are usually administered by national ministries of health, environment or education depending on which activities Danida supports in that specific country.
Tax-exemption for Danish citizens
If certain criteria are met, it is possible for Danish citizens, whose employer pays for the full Master programme, to apply for tax exemption. In order to be eligible for tax exemption, the employee must accept a salary reduction amounting to the total course fee paid by the employer. For further information, refer to the guidelines stated in "Ligningsloven" §31, or contact The Danish Ministry of Taxation.

The following list contains various scholarship opportunities from external institutions. For enquiries, please enter directly in contact with the respective institutions. The following scholarships are open to students from specific countries:
Australia
General Sir John Monash scholarship: The John Monash Scholarship is a postgraduate award for Australian citizens. It is awarded to students who aim to pursue a taught master’s programmes or doctorates at top-tier international universities.
Canada
Canadian students may apply for the Mackenzie King Open Scholarship which is open to students who wish to study graduate studies in Canada or abroad.
Chile
The CONICYT Becas Chile is a scholarship awarded to Chilean citizens to start or continue post-graduate studies at international highly-ranked institutions.
Colombia
Colombian students can apply for funding for their master studies through the COLFUTURO loan/scholarship programme.
Germany
DAAD Jahresstipendien für Graduierte aller wissenschaftlichen Fächer (Annual Scholarships for Graduates of All Disciplines): The scholarships for graduates are provided by the DAAD. Application is open for German citizens but under certain conditions non-German citizens who have been granted equalized status to German citizens can apply. The aim is to enable graduates of all disciplines to gain international study experience.
Friedrich- Ebert-Stiftung (FES): The FES offers scholarships for German citizens pursuing their postgraduate studies in Germany but also at European universities. The foundation encourages students committed to the core social democratic values of freedom, justice and social cohesion. As such, not only academic achievement but the involvement of the applicant in social and political affairs and activities as well as personal views are taking into account.
India
Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation: Scholarships granted by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation are granted to high achieving students of Indian citizenship holding an undergraduate degree aiming to pursue postgraduate studies at a highly-ranked university abroad. Tuition fees, living expenses and one-way travel are covered by the scholarship.
JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarships: The JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarships are open to Indian nationals who aim to study at a postgraduate level abroad in all fields of study.
Lady Meherbai D. Tata Education Trust Scholarships: The scholarship is granted to female Indian graduates who have studied at a recognized Indian university and who wish to continue their education at a recognized university abroad (including EU). It is possible to apply while still awaiting admission to the desired programme.
Indonesia
The Indonesian Education Scholarship is awarded to Indonesian citizens who aim to pursue their master’s studies abroad. The University of Copenhagen is a listed target university.
Mexico
CONAyT: Mexican citizens can apply to the CONACyT scholarship awarded by the Mexican government. The scholarship which consists of a monthly award is granted to those students seeking graduate studies at an international university.
FIDERH: Mexican citizens can apply for loans provided by FIDERH to finance their graduate studies abroad. The loan may be used for covering tuition fees and living costs. Calls for application happen three times a year, typically in March, May and December.
FUNED: A further source of funding for Mexican students may be a grant offered by FUNED.
Myanmar
Thabyay: Students from Myanmar can seek information about a variety of funding opportunities administered by Thabyay. The following scholarships are administered by Thabyay: Prospect Burma (PB), Supplementary Grant Program Asia (SGPA), B K Kee Foundation, Jetana Foundation, Lloyd George Asia Foundation (LGAF), Junior Faculty Scholarship Program (JFSP - OSF), Arohana.
Supplementary Grant Program Asia (SGPA): Students from Myanmar who wish to study at a recognized university abroad can apply for a supplementary grant awarded by the SGPA. It is designed as an additional form of financing source, i.e. a partial scholarship to supplement another funding source.
Qatar
The Tamim bin Hamad scholarship awarded under the Qatar government scholarship programme offers scholarships to Qatari citizens who wish to study at a recognized university abroad. UCPH is included in the list of approved universities.
South Africa
Firstrand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship: South African citizens can apply to the Firstrand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship which is awarded for postgraduate studies at a recognized university outside of South Africa. Application deadline is in February 2016.
United States
Fulbright Commission: American citizens can apply for a scholarship awarded by the Fulbright Commission.
ASF: The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) in New York City offers a range of fellowships and grants for U.S. students and scholars to study or research in Scandinavia.
Other scholarship options
Rotary scholarship
The Rotary Foundation provides scholarships for students through their Rotary Foundation Global Grants programme. Applicants have to be nominated by a local Rotary club which is located in 70 countries around the world. Whereas applications can in general be made on a rolling basis, the different local clubs might have internal application deadlines in place. Interested students should contact their local Rotary club.
OFID
The OFID Scholarship award by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) is granted for students from developing countries who wish to pursue a master’s degree in an development-related field at an internationally recognized university. The scholarship covers tuition fees and a monthly allowance.
