Welcome to the Copenhagen Datawalk!

Copenhagen is a city quietly powered by data. Across the city, sensors are continuously monitoring everything from pedestrian flows and traffic congestion to waste levels and water quality. How does this rich stream of real-time data helps city planners and policymakers make smarter decisions to improve health and quality of urban life?

The Copenhagen Datawalk invites you to discover how everyday data — from drainage systems to your daily outdoor movements — is collected and transformed into smart city solutions that reduce pollution, promote active living, and improve wellbeing for all.

On this tour, you will visit key locations where Copenhagen’s hidden data flows come to life, illustrating how technology and urban design work together to build a smarter, healthier city.

Inspired by the Datawalk in Brussels, the Copenhagen Datawalk is more than just an educational tour. It’s a platform for residents, government officials, urban planners, health professionals — and curious citizens — to reflect together on how emerging technologies are transforming urban life and to engage in open conversations about their long-term implications.

Offered by the School of Global Health of the University of Copenhagen, the Copenhagen Datawalk is available in two formats:

  1. As a guided group tour, integrated into our summer school courses or by special request.
  2. As a downloadable self-guided audio tour (coming soon).

At SGH, we believe that building smarter, healthier cities starts with informed and engaged citizens. The Copenhagen Datawalk invites you to become part of that future.
