International Health Unit

Department of International Health, Immunology & Microbiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen

The research and expertise of the International Health Unit includes everything from global health issues to problems arising from the most widespread and serious diseases, regional and local differences in health conditions and international health programmes and their effects. The most important themes are health systems and society, health in poor societies, disaster management, and prevention, and arctic health.

Intervention studies, longitudinal studies, and international comparative studies are performed in collaboration with health care researchers, cultural researchers and social scientists.

To meet the increasing need for capacity building and strengthening of the resource base in International Health both in Denmark and in Danida programme countries, the International Health Unit now offers two Master's programmes and two annual Summer Schools.
