About the department

Changing Diabetes® is responsible for Novo Nordisk corporate activities to address the global diabetes burden. We are a team of nine dedicated people who are committed to make a positive impact for patients and for Novo Nordisk. We drive projects to improve access to medicines, provide diabetes care for children in developing countries, screen women for gestational diabetes and support Novo Nordisk affiliates across the world in their commitment to Changing Diabetes®. We run partnerships with patient organisations and NGO’s to develop and promote solutions that can lead to better care and interact with policy-makers to advocate for diabetes care. We prepare decisions for Novo Nordisk senior management and communicate Novo Nordisk positions on access to care issues. Changing Diabetes® is part of the Communication, Relations & Sustainability area and is located at our Headquarters in Bagsvaerd, Denmark. We work in close collaboration with other parts of our global organisation.

The position

You will support Project Managers in the Changing Diabetes team in day-to-day projects tasks. In this role, you will work with team members on specific project coordination tasks such as organisation internal workshops, external advocacy events, communication tasks and ad-hoc analyses and literature searches.

  • Internship period: The internship position is a full-time position for 4-6 months
  • Start date: 1 September 2017
  • A Danish full time work permit is required

Qualifications

We are looking for an intern who is passionate about global health, access to health care and health advocacy. You are currently studying on your Master’s degree in Public health, Political science, International development or other relevant field.
You are a person with a strong personal drive and dedication. You have professional and personal impact that is reflected in your desire to take initiative. We expect candidates to be service minded, thrive in a busy environment and bring a "can-do attitude". Fluency in both oral and written English, ability to manage a large volume of projects (with supervision), sound personal judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Finally, you must have strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.
