New PhD Level Course in Global Health Policy

The University of Copenhagen is offering a new PhD level course in Global Health Policy, aimed at students and professionals interested in policy and global health. During this course participants will learn about institutions and frameworks for global health policy. We also examine national and global health governance, methods of improving health services, and design and implementation of global policies, as well as current health policy changes and challenges. The course gives an overview of the historical and institutional underpinnings of global health policy and an introduction to current debates in the field.

On successful completion of the course participants should be able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the tensions and debates in international health policy and how they influence present course of policy development

  • apply the capacity for critical assessment of contemporary trends and developments in international health policy

  • know how to engage with health policy making at the international level

6 days course

The 6 day course is taught by an international team from a diverse professional base, including Professor Maximilian de Courten from the Copenhagen School of Global Health, Professor Vivian Lin and Associate Professor David Legge from La Trope University, Australia.
