Africa: Commission adopts standards for support to torture victimsOrganisational Strategy Intern

As an intern at the IRCT you will get a good understanding of international work and project implementation in the area of rehabilitation of torture victims. You will support the mid-term review of IRCT’s 2015-2020 Strategic Plan where you will play a crucial role in consulting with internal and external stakeholders and assessing IRCT’s delivery against the Plan. This process will also include the development of IRCT’s updated Strategic Plan. Among the tasks are consultations with key stakeholders including IRCT’s Torture Rehabilitation member centres in over 70 countries, drafting reports, financial analyses and support with tasks in relation to on-going project work.

We invite candidates with the following qualifications to apply:

  • Relevant education within Business Management, Organisational Management, Development Studies, Economics and Finance etc. 
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral, with solid communication skills
  • Confidence in interviewing stakeholders across international contexts
  • Strong analytical skills, including numeracy proficiency
  • Financial analytical skills 
  • Strong planning skills and ability to multitask against tight deadlines 
  • Experienced user of Microsoft package and IT literacy 
  • Interest in human rights 
  • You must be enrolled in an educational programme where their internship will be eligible to a credit transfer

Terms of Employment

The position is full-time based in Copenhagen and to be filled in July (start date to be agreed upon). It has duration of six months. Our internships do not entail salary. It is a requirement that the applicant has work and/or residency permit and preferably already resides in Denmark due to the urgency of filling the position.

Resource Development Intern

Your focus will be supporting the creation of a resource platform for torture rehabilitation centres that will gather state-of-the-art knowledge, tools, materials and forums relevant to professionals working in the area. This platform is expected to foster engagement and contributions among the membership worldwide. Among the tasks are interviewing torture rehabilitation centres in order to understand their needs regarding a resource platform, conduct a study on current resources available at the IRCT and resource platforms from other organisations and support with tasks in relation to on-going project work.

We invite candidates with the following qualifications to apply:

  • Relevant education within Anthropology, Public Health, Development Studies, Information Management, and Business Development.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral, with solid communication skills
  • Confidence in interviewing stakeholders across international contexts
  • Strong analytical skills, including numeracy proficiency
  • Strong planning skills and ability to multitask against tight deadlines
