Danish initiative on global occupational and environmental health
The objective of the meeting is to facilitate and inspire a new Danish joint initiative on global health.

The mission of the new initiative is to improve working conditions globally by research, intervention, dissemination in collaboration with researchers and OHS specialists from countries where the protection of workers is still limited.

It is a joint initiative between the following institutes:Copenhagen School of Global Health/Copenhagen University Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine/Odense University Hospital Department of Public Health/Aarhus UniversityDepartment of Clinical Research/University of Southern Denmark

10.00 Welcome: Inger Schaumburg, Director NRCWE.

10.15 Experiences from Finland on occupational health from a global perspective (FIOH representative, N.N.).

11.00 Experiences from Norway on occupational health from a global perspective (Bente Moen, Center for International Health, Bergen University).

11.45 Experiences from Sweden on occupational health from a global perspective (Kaj Elgstrand, Department of Medical Sciences, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Uppsala University.

12.30 Lunch.

13.30 Danida: How can we use the Danish Ministry of Foreign affairs organization DANIDA to facilitate projects on occupational health: Flemming Conradsen, Copenhagen School of Global Health, Copenhagen University.

14.00 Experiences from a Danida project in the textile industry. Peter Hasle, center for industrial production, Aalborg University.

14.30 Danish experiences with global research on the health impact of pesticides. Erik Jørs, Department of Occupational Medicine, Odense University Hospital.

15.00 Coffee.

15.30 Danish experiences with Occupational Health and safety in Bangladesh. Elsebeth Jarmbæk, Danish Working Environment Authority, Copenhagen.

16.00 -16.30 Danish experiences with global research on the health impact of mercury. Jane Frølund Thomsen, Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Bisbebjerg Hospital, Copenhagen.

After the meeting a short presentations on current Global projects are given within the framework of DASAM’s Committee for Global Health, ICOEPH. Everyone are welcome to join.
