ObamaCare - Lecture by Professor John Hsu

The United States is in the midst of payment reforms perhaps best exemplified by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). We will discuss two central aspects of the ACA: 1) expansion of health insurance coverage; 2) payment innovations that attempt to induce care delivery structural changes, e.g., Accountable Care Organizations.

Dr. Hsu is director of the Clinical Economics and Policy Analysis Program, Mongan Institute for Health Policy, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School studies.

Dr. Hsu innovations in health care financing and delivery, and their effects on medical quality and efficiency. Dr. Hsu’s current work focuses on the interplay between benefit design and delivery system integration. He has collaborated closely with policy-makers and organizational decision-makers to help implement changes based on his research findings.
