Open research meeting at International Health

Presentation by Stine Lund, MD PhD fellow

Maternity Worldwide and University of Copenhagen are presenting a new initiative using mobile phones to improve clinical management during delivery. Together they have developed a smartphone application containing four animation videos with clinical instructions on:

  1. active management of the third stage of labour
  2. management of post partum haemorrhage
  3. manual removal of placenta
  4. neonatal resuscitation

The application will initially be implemented and tested amongst midwifes and health extension workers in Ethiopia and Ghana.

The presentation will show the mobile phone application and discuss a protocol for scientific evaluation of impact.
